Since they’re not meant for real-game action, fungo bats are much cheaper and of significantly lower quality than regular bats. Because hitting baseballs degrades bats little by little, it’s best to use a fungo bat for hitting ground balls or pop flies. Fungo bats are typically lighter than regular bats so they’re easier to swing, but a weighted training bat can help you get stronger and swing faster.
